How to Foster and Adopt Q&A

If we missed anything you can submit a question on the contact page!

How long can I expect to wait after submitting an application to foster/adopt to being contacted?

You will receive an email from a staff member ( email will be @caring.com ) within a 3-7 business days and will contain further instruction.

What do I need?

Ensure that your home allows pets (HOAs and Rented homes maybe affected by this), Be 18 or older, Ensure your home is SAFE for the animal (ex. Dogs need fenced in backyards or area to go outside), and make sure if you have children that they are supervised with animals at all times.

How long can is the expected wait between being accepted to foster/adopt and meeting the pet?

This varies depending on sitution, Sometimes we have urgent placement which we will call all foster applicants andn bring to the first to accept. Usually we will call a few foster applicants and pick the best fix and plan a day from there. For adoption we will call and schedule a pick up day.

How long am I going to foster?

This will be discussed when we call for placement. It can range from a weekend stay to a month usually. If you need to give up a foster for any reason we will handle it. We will be in contact with you throughout the entire fostering process.

Do I have to keep replaying to foster after each time?

No, You will stay in our foster applicant list until you notify us that you would like to be removed.

As a Foster what will be provided to me?

You will recieve a crate, bedding, water/food dishes, toys, treats, poop bags, and anything else needed for that specific pet. These items will stay will the pet meaning if they need to leave to go to another foster home those items will be taken with them.
